Our Leadership

David Wheadon joined our Board as a Non-Executive Director in June 2024 and became Chair in January 2025. With decades of leadership experience at global pharmaceutical companies including AstraZeneca, Abbott Laboratories, GlaxoSmithKline, and Eli Lilly, David has shaped regulatory affairs and clinical development at the highest levels. His background spans both industry and advocacy, from advancing regulatory science at PhRMA to championing patient-centered research at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

David trained as a psychiatrist at Tufts/New England Medical Center after earning his M.D. at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and an A.B. in Biology from Harvard. Today he also serves on the boards of Sotera Health and Vaxart, as well as the Board of Trustees of Mount Sinai Health System.

Joe joined Indivior as a Non-Executive Director in December 2024 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in May 2025.

Joe is an accomplished public company CEO and brings more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, leading global and U.S. organizations across specialty, rare disease, mass market, and hospital therapeutic areas. He has a proven track record of driving growth and operational excellence in complex, competitive markets.

Before joining Indivior, Joe most recently served as President and CEO of Collegium Pharmaceutical. His prior leadership roles include President of U.S. Branded Pharmaceuticals at Endo International and several senior positions at Biogen, including Senior Vice President of the Global Specialty Medicines Group, Senior Vice President of U.S. Commercial, and Vice President of U.S. Neurology Field Operations and Marketing. Earlier in his career, Joe was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Shionogi Inc. and President of Shionogi Pharmaceuticals. He also held commercial leadership roles at Schering-Plough (now Merck), Sanofi-Synthelabo (now Sanofi), and Novartis.

Joe earned both his B.A. in Communications and his M.B.A. from Rutgers University.

Keith Humphreys joined the Board in November 2023, bringing more than 30 years of experience in clinical psychology and substance use research. He is Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University and an Honorary Professor at King’s College London. His work has shaped addiction policy on both sides of the Atlantic, including service as Senior Policy Advisor in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy under President Obama.

Keith was awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II in 2022 for his contributions to science and public policy on addiction. He holds degrees in psychology from Michigan State University and the University of Illinois.

Tony Kingsley joined Indivior’s Board in July 2025. He has led organizations at every stage of biopharmaceutical development, from early research to global commercialization. As the former CEO of Stablix, Tony helped pioneer novel therapeutics in deubiquitination. His past leadership at Scholar Rock, TARIS Bio, The Medicines Company, and Biogen also reflect a consistent focus on advancing treatments for serious disease. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company.

Tony holds a magna cum laude degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. His career has been defined by building teams that bring transformative science to patients.

Daniel was appointed a Non-Executive Director in January 2025 and Chair of the Nomination Committee in March 2025.

Daniel is currently Chairman of the Board and Chair of the Finance Committee of Garrett Motion Inc. (NASDAQ:GTX), a Switzerland-based supplier of turbochargers and other products designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions in vehicles and industrial equipment. He is also a member of the Management Executive Committee of Metalsa S.A (a non-public company). From August 2021 until March 2024, Daniel formerly served as the Chief Executive Officer and subsequently the Executive Chairman of Lordstown Motors Corp, an electric vehicle automaker.  Prior to that, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Icahn Enterprises L.P. (IEP) (NASDAQ:IEP), the principal investment vehicle of Carl Icahn, between 2010 and 2014;  Co-Chief Executive Officer of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp. (a public-company subsidiary of IEP now part of Apollo Global Management) from 2014 until 2017; and Chief Executive Officer of Icahn Automotive Group, LLC  and a Managing Director of IEP from  2017 until  2019. Prior to joining IEP, Daniel spent six years at Lear Corporation (NYSE:LEA), holding various senior executive positions.

Daniel has served as a director of numerous public and private companies, including Garrett Motion Inc., Lordstown Motors Corp., Hertz Global Holdings Inc., Navistar International Corporation, Icahn Enterprises G.P. Inc. (the general partner of Icahn Enterprises), CVR Energy Inc., XO Holdings, Tropicana Entertainment Inc., Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc., and CIT Group, Inc.

Daniel began his career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP before joining Winston & Strawn LLP, where he became a partner specializing in mergers & acquisitions, financing transactions and corporate governance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University, an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and a law degree (Juris Doctor) (with distinction) from Stanford University School of Law.

When Barbara Ryan joined our Board in June 2022, she brought more than 30 years of experience as a leading Wall Street analyst in the pharmaceutical sector until 2012. In 2012, she founded Barbara Ryan Advisors, where she advises life sciences companies on capital markets and strategic communications, and is the founder of Fabulous Pharma Females, a non-profit advancing women in biopharma. 

Barbara serves on several boards, including Azitra, INVO Bioscience, and MiNK Therapeutics. She is also a Senior Advisor at EY. Her career reflects both financial expertise and a commitment to inclusion in the life sciences industry.  

Mark Stejbach joined our Board in March 2021. With more than 30 years in biotech and pharmaceuticals, he has held senior commercial roles at Alkermes, Tengion, Merck, and Biogen, including leading the commercialization of addiction and schizophrenia treatments. Mark also served as a director at Flexion Therapeutics and as Senior Commercial Advisor to EIP Pharma.

Mark earned his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Mathematics from Virginia Tech. His expertise lies in building sustainable commercial strategies that put individuals at the center.

Juliet Thompson joined Indivior’s Board in March 2021. With a background in investment banking and board leadership, Juliet has advised pharmaceutical companies for more than 30 years. She co-founded Code Securities, later acquired by Nomura, and went on to lead healthcare and clean tech advisory at Stifel.

Juliet is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit Chair at Novacyt and Advanced Medical Solutions Group PLC. She studied economics at the University of Bristol, UK, and is a Chartered Accountant.
